PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Rhode Island State Police Capt. Ann C. Assumpico has dreamed of becoming colonel of the state police since she watched the “Adam-12” police drama at age 10. “I didn’t see any women,” said Assumpico, 59, who learned Tuesday that Governor Gina Raimondo would name her to lead the force that she has served for the last 24 years.
